September News

OK so last month we hardly had time to sleep, with the chaos of STUDENTS.

Danielle was a very busy lady! Luckily our lettings and sales teams have the most amazing team managers, thank you Joanna and Jodie who kept everything running very smoothly.

We saw the successful check outs of over 45 student properties, resulting in over 270 students leaving us. The correlation of works carried out by local contractors, and our usual high standards returning properties back to their owners, ready for the beginning of this month where we then had to move all our new students in.

Yes, a few mumbles but overall a huge success. The girls in my office are paramount to ensuring it runs smoothly and I am constantly grateful to them for doing so.

The month of August is always a slightly quieter one for sales, sadly the summer holidays tends to put house moving on hold for many families. (As a mum I can completely agree why summer holidays is the most stressful time to move home.) However the beginning of September has seen an increase of instructions and plenty of fresh enquiries resulting in many viewings.

We have huge delays with the Exeter City Council local plans and searches office, still working currently on searches from the end of July 2014. This is delaying many sales that realistically could have completed by now, but we are doing everything we can to keep everyone very happy.

Being an all girl team here, we are proudly undergoing training to allow all our sales team to be fully qualified. We are taking an NFOPP Technical award in sale of residential property. To ensure the standard of service continues to outshine those of other agencies and we all have a great underpinned knowledge of the housing market and laws governing it.

Most agents qualify themselves by a or the director sitting these exams, but we feel it very important to ensure ALL our staff are trained to this high degree, it is essentially like sitting an A Level exam in property law.

We have lots of new properties coming onto the market. We have to ensure the EPC’s are instructed immediately as legally they need to be instructed and then carried out and displayed in 28 days.

We also have been busy adjusting our way in which we value and agree terms and conditions with customers. Constantly ensuring we are up to date with all the correct legislation surrounding the way a good estate agent works.

Clear Property is busy planning a new Sales property seminar, which we will be excited to announce further information on shortly.

Santa Run - ExeterClear Property are proudly sponsors of a great local family running event, coming soon the Santa Fun Run or 5k Race. It is in December and along the quayside, run event organisers Ironbridge Runner are selling tickets fast.

Director Kelly Forrester is a keen runner and will be shortly running her third half marathon the Great West Run. Also a keen Riverside parkrun volunteer and attendee she is always enjoying running, and encouraging other young, old and generally anyone that wants to enjoy a fantastic and very healthy hobby.

So another very busy, highly successful month, with lots going on for the remainder of this year.
