Cranbrook is an emerging town just 6 miles from our beautiful city. The first new town to be built in Devon since the middle ages. This relatively new town focuses on being self-sufficient and a low carbon community.
The location of Cranbrook is a huge advantage, a commute by bus or car takes just 12 minutes into Exeter and it a fantastic location to commute to all parts of the West as it is situated along the A30, with close links to the A380 and M5. Cranbrook has its own train station with a direct service to London Waterloo.
The first phase of the Cranbrook development is known as Younghayes, with the completion of attractive new homes, local shops and St Martins C of E Primary School in 2012.
The Younghayes community centre offers a variety of community events, sports and resident evenings. It is home to Cranbrook Town Council, where Cllr Kim Bloxham has had a huge into the development of Cranbrook, representing the community and supporting the residents. The Cranbrook medical centre is also located within the community centre, making it the hub of Cranbrook.
The fourth phase is now under way and Cranbrook’s education campus and secondary school have been built.
Exeter City Football in the Community have built a strong relationship with the campus and are working together to develop fantastic sports facilities for the people of Cranbrook.
Cranbrook Country park offers great walks and there are play areas for children to enjoy as well. The recently opened Cranberry Farm public house is a great place to enjoy a meal or local events. The staff are so lovely here and it’s easy to see why people travel from all over Exeter to enjoy its relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
